7-Month Update

Baby girl, you are 7 months old!  You’re growing and learning like crazy, and here’s what you’ve been up to this month:

You’re wearing 6-9 month clothes, size 2 shoes, and size 2 diapers.   Shoes make you smile, but you’d rather eat the m than wear them on your feet.  Your hair is finally growing back in from thinning WAY out around 5months, and your teacher at school has even gotten it into some super-cute ponytails/pigtails on occasion.  I’m working on it, but I’m not quite as good as she is!
You are a rolling machine!  You have figured out how to get from any position into rolling position. Once you’ve decided where you want to go, there’s no stopping you.  You’re pretty quick, too, so I’m a little nervous about keeping up with you when you figure out crawling and walking.
Your new favorite toy is an old cell phone that our friends, Jeff and Terri, gave to you.  The funniest part is, you know what to do with it.  You’ll pick it up and hold it by your head (not quite your ear) and talk to it.  You’ll even pause sometimes like you’re waiting for a response before continuing your “conversation”.  Ha ha!
You love to feed yourself your own snacks.  Of course, more gets on your clothes, face, or hair than in your mouth, but it doesn’t matter to you.  I will sprinkle a few onto your tray and you will cram as much as you can fit into your mouth, and the rest you will hold in your fists to make sure no one else steals them.  When you have no more, you will bang your fists on the tray and stare at me as if to say, “More!  More!  More!”  Your favorite snacks right now are your little puffy “cheetos” (as we like to call them).
We introduced you to a sippy cup, more so to see how you would react, not necessarily to see if you could use it.  You did grab onto it, but couldn’t quite figure out how to get the juice out.  I tried a few times to help you, but you just got frustrated.  I ended up holding it for you and you gulped down your juice.  At least you don’t mind drinking from it – but we’ll just keep working on how to use it yourself.
You seem to be picking up new things faster and faster, and I can’t wait to see where you are next month.  Your daddy and I so enjoy watching you grow and learn.  We are so blessed to have you – we love you, sweet girl!
